I’m Lee Davis Jr., a Florida author and lifelong storyteller.
I wasn’t formally trained as a writer, and I didn’t grow up imagining I would someday become an author. I’ve simply always loved stories. I love hearing them, reading them, watching them on screen, and disappearing down research rabbit holes that may or may not eventually make it onto a page.
I was born and raised in Florida and now call New Smyrna Beach home. My family and friends are the center of my world. My amazing wife, D’Yan, and I have five adult children, three grandchildren, and a Bernedoodle puppy, Bodhi, who would probably object to being listed last.
We try to navigate life with kindness, curiosity, and a love for adventure. We travel whenever time allows, spend as much time near the ocean as we can, and have a bucket list of places around the world that seems to get longer rather than shorter.
Maybe that’s why I’m drawn to stories about people and the unexpected places life takes them.
I love characters who are funny, flawed, loyal, brave, inappropriate at exactly the wrong time, and human enough to make terrible choices for understandable reasons. I like stories where danger reveals character, humor becomes a survival tool, and the people who show up for each other become every bit as important as the plot.
My fiction explores ordinary people under extraordinary pressure. I’m fascinated by the moments when fear, love, grief, loyalty, and instinct collide, and when someone discovers what they’re capable of, whether they wanted to know or not.
I write thrillers with emotional stakes, cinematic tension, sharp humor, and characters who carry their scars into the fight.
About Lee Davis Jr.
We only live once. I would rather dare and fail than regret not trying.
